Q: Which was the last team to lose Game 7 of the Finals and then play that same opponent in the NBA Finals the next year?

A: The Pistons lost Game 7 to the Lakers in Los Angeles in the 1988 Finals, and then swept the Lakers in four games in the 1989 Finals.
