2013-14 Fantasy Rankings: 16-30

By Brian Martin

Training camps are officially open, which means it's time to prepare for another season of fantasy hoops. Below are our initial top 150 rankings for the 2013-14 season. As the season draws closer, check back for updates as you prepare for your draft.

Note: Number in parentheses after each player name represents their overall value per game from '12-13. Value is based on how each player stacks up against the "average" player without regard to position -- you'll notice point guards are weighed more favorably than centers, but that shouldn't necessarily reflect where you would rank each.

(Rankings as of Oct. 4, 2013)

1-15 | 16-30 | 31-45 | 46-60 | 61-75 | 76-90 | 91-105 | 106-120 | 121-135 | 136-150

16. Serge Ibaka (Last Season: 24) | Oklahoma City Thunder | Pos:PF, C

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
13.27.70.50.43.01.60.3.573.749

Notes: Blocks dipped last year (from 3.7 to 3.0), but he's becoming a more well-rounded player (13.2 ppg, 57.3 FG%, 74.9% FT in '12-13)

17. LaMarcus Aldridge (19) | Portland Trail Blazers | Pos: PF, C

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
21.19.12.60.81.21.90.0.484.810

Notes: As safe a pick as there is on the board, assuming Neil Olshey is speaking the truth.

18. Al Horford (18) | Atlanta Hawks | Pos:PF, C

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
17.410.23.21.11.12.00.0.543.644

Notes: Make no mistake: this is Al's team now. Career year on the way.

19. Al Jefferson (31) | Charlotte Bobcats | Pos:PF, C

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
17.89.22.11.01.11.30.0.494.770

Notes: No competition for touches in frontcourt and Bobcats desperately need a big they could dump it down to. 19 and 10 a safe guess.

20. Dwyane Wade (11) | Miami Heat | Pos:PG, SG

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
21.25.05.11.90.82.80.2.521.725

Notes: He looks awfully sleak after working out with Tim Grover this summer, and he's out to prove #1 wrong. We're buying.

21. Ty Lawson (45) | Denver Nuggets | Pos:PG

2012-13 Stats (Only 18 games played last season due to injury)
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
16.72.76.91.50.12.51.2.461.756

Notes: Before getting hurt late in year, was in midst of a major leap. Check February numbers: 23 ppg, 50% FG, 1.3 3Pt, 80% FT, 3 rpg, 8.4 apg, 1.5 spg.

22. Dirk Nowitzki (39) | Dallas Mavericks | Pos:PF

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
17.36.82.50.70.71.31.2.471.860

Notes: Word is he's as healthy as he's been in years. A lock for Top 20 status if he plays 70+.

23. Josh Smith (41) | Detroit Pistons | Pos:SF, PF

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
17.58.44.21.21.83.00.8.465.517

Notes: Saying all the right things. Still needs to prove last year's dreadful 51.7% FT was an anomaly.

24. Kobe Bryant (6) | Los Angeles Lakers | Pos:SG

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
27.35.66.01.40.33.71.7.463.839

Notes: Not sure I'd take him this high, but I expect him to end up here. After all, he's Kobe Freakin' Bryant.

25. Damian Lillard (32) | Portland Trail Blazers | Pos:PG

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
19.03.16.50.90.23.02.3.429.844

Notes: Like most players of his caliber, should see bumps across the board and better efficiency after a stellar rookie season. He thinks so, too.

26. Joakim Noah (13) | Chicago Bulls | Pos:PF, C

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
11.911.14.01.22.12.70.0.481.751

Notes: Absolute across-the-board monster last year. Injuries are always a concern (66 games in '12-13), but per minute production too strong to place any lower.

27. Ricky Rubio (56) | Minnesota Timberwolves| Pos:PG

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
10.74.07.32.40.13.00.5.360.799

Notes: FG% and lack of 3-pointers are tough to swallow, but has a legit chance to lead league in assists and steals.

28. Dwight Howard (93) | Houston Rockets | Pos:C

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
17.112.41.41.12.43.00.0.578.492

Notes: Now 100%, no reason to believe he shouldn't better last year's "pedestrian" numbers. Just needs to get that FT% (49.2% in '12-13) up in 60% range.

29. DeMarcus Cousins (40) | Sacramento Kings | Pos: PF, C

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
17.19.92.71.40.73.00.1.465.738

Notes: Vasquez and Mbah a Moute are guys that make other players better, and Mike Malone is going to be a heck of a coach. Expect big things from Boogie.

30. Blake Griffin (38) | Los Angeles Clippers | Pos:PF

2012-13 Stats
PTSREBASTSTLBLKTOV3FGMFG%FT%
18.08.33.71.20.62.30.1.538.660

Notes: Pressure is off him these days and FT% is pointing up (66.0% in '12-13). Suddenly, he's become an underrated fantasy performer.
