This Day in NBA History: "God Disguised as Michael Jordan"

On April 20, 1986, Michael Jordan scored an NBA Playoff record 63 points in a 135-131 double-overtime loss to the Boston Celtics. Jordan shot 22-of-41 from the field and 19-of-21 from the line en route to breaking Elgin Baylor's previous mark of 61 points set during the 1962 NBA Finals. After the game, Boston's Larry Bird shook his head and proclaimed "It's just God disguised as Michael Jordan."

The Numbers from Day One

For just the second time ever, three road teams won Game 1 of the first round on the opening day of the playoffs; it also happened in 1996. The Thunder were the only team that successfully protected its home court, thanks in large part to Kevin Durant's 33 points (13 in the fourth quarter), eight rebounds and seven assists against the Grizzlies.

2013-14 Season Official Leaders

The 2013-14 regular season has officially come to an end, so it is time to crown this year's statistical champions. Kevin Durant won his fourth scoring title in five seasons, becoming the first player to do so since Michael Jordan won seven straight from 1987 to 1993. Durant joins Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Allen Iverson and George Gervin as the only players to win four or more scoring titles. The Clippers duo of Chris Paul (assists and steals) and DeAndre Jordan (rebounds and field goal percentage) each led two categories.
